Buddhist Temple

Visiting Kuala Lumpur on a shoot trip was really exciting. Finding places to get great shots can be challenging when you are battling for places and spaces without people in it. On top of a beautiful mountain sat a Chinese Buddhist Temple that is often visited by tourists and the devoted. This was quite a challenge to get these clean shots without the hundreds of people in it. it had to be a quick shoot without a second thought. if there was a gap in visitors you took it !

Looking back at the video I am pleasantly surprised how desolate a lot of the shots look. The clean whites with the brilliant colours against the sky really jumped out – and most importantly I was able to give this temple the pace and the respect that it deserved.

I didn’t shoot the main prayer hall out of sheer respect, but got the chance to go inside and sit down, to reflect and quieten the mind. the prayer hall was ornate with statues of the deities that were beautifully embellished. A photographers dream, with filtered light pouring through the three huge doorways. I was going to disrespect the devotees that were there to pray and not have photographer intrude.

Hope you like the quick video of this amazing place – so we can share the travel adventures that we have at GCP
